Last Thursday evening Cassia had a little bit of a fever. We didn't think much of it because there were no other symptoms associated with it. She was acting like her regular, happy self. But by Saturday morning she woke up with a rash and hives all over her body. I rushed her over to my parents because my dad is a doc and he did a strep test on her and it came up negative. He then checked her ears and he said that she had an ear infection in both ears. He said that the rash and hives must be a virus that she picked up that is associated with the ear infection. He prescribed her some medicine and I immediately had her start taking it. This is the first time that Cassia has been sick except for a runny nose or a small cough so it was sad. Look at our poor little girl.
The interesting thing through this is Cassia acted completely normal. Even with all the hives and rash she didn't even act like anything was wrong. She went about her normal routine of food, play, and sleep. But she is all better now and cute as ever. The other day Shaun and I wrote down all the words that she says and she says 25 words! Also, she is still a light weight and I have to keep on taking her in to get checked for weight. She now weighs 17 lbs 11 oz. That is progress!

I am so sad to hear she was such a sick little girl:( Good thing she is all better now...don't let her catch anything else before we come see you!
Oh, it's so sad! I'm glad she's better!
I'm sorry she was sick. How nice to have a doc in the family.
Marek had hives last year when he was one and they were all over him like with Cassia. He woke up with half of his face swollen and we rushed him into the hospital. We did not know where he got them from but he was over them in a few days.
I am glad that she is doing better.
That definitely didn't look good, but at least she acted normal through it - what a trooper! And she is just such a cutie! In that picture with her and Shaun they have the same hair it looks like :)
ouch! That looks like it hurts! The poor little baby. I hope she is feeling better.
Poor girl!! She still looks so cute! Ah... I can't wait to get together again.
Hey Lindsey and Shaun,
I'm glad I found your blog. Its good to see you guys are doing so well.
Those pics of her rash and hives look so painful. Good thing babies don't notice hose things or ich them like older people would. I am glad it wasn't anything more serious!
